Updating iphone firmware takes forever

For i Phone 6s and earlier, i Pad, and i Pod users, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If users cannot successfully restart their i OS device, here we recommend you have a try by using Tenorshare Rei Boot.

In i Tunes it says "restoring iphone firmware" but it seems to be frozen.

Anyone else have this problem or any suggestions on how to fix it? I have the same problem, when i upgraded to IOS 7.0.4 I had to go to recovery. When it got to restoring ipad and the bar line reached about 55% it just froze.

I have been trying to update my iphone 4 to the i OS 5 firmware.

For simply restart your i Phone, users should hold and press Power button until "slide to power off" appear, then swipe to shut down your i Phone/i Pad/i Pod and start again.

For force restart, i Phone 7 or i Phone 8/X users should press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Then, see if it resumes and try a hard reset to make sure. If even that doesn't work, you have one more things to try...

Sometimes hardware or software picks update time to fail.
